DAIHATSU HD Three-Wheel Vehicle (1931) merupakan produksi pertama kendaraan bermotor dari Daihatsu (Hatsudoki Seizo Co, Ltd). Kendaraan roda tiga dari ini masih menggunakan mesin buatan luar negeri dan menarik perhatian masyarakat Jepang dan Daihatsu mulai mengembangkan mesin dalam negeri di Jepang.

Three-wheel vehicles with foreign-made engines attracted considerable attention in the early days of the Showa Era, and Daihatsu began working on the development of a domestic engine.
Daihatsu sought to sell the engines to vehicle assembly companies, but this was a time when imported goods were held in extremely highesteen and the assembly companies rejected Daihatsu’s engines.
